Dorothy Geraldine Weatherford Pruitt

Dorothy Weatherford Pruitt, known as "Grandma Dot" to her family, age 82, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 5th in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 3:00 PM Saturday at the home, 368 W. Broad Street, Darlington. Born June 21, 1934, Dorothy is the daughter of the late Samuel Benjamin Weatherford and the late Martha Isadora Drew Weatherford. She was a graduate of St. John's High School and Anderson College. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed cross stitching, planting her flowers, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Cynthia Pruitt, Debbie McCaskill, Scott (Dianne) Pruitt, all of Darlington, Karen Pruitt of Greensboro, and Martha Herrington of Anderson; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Homer (Barbara) Weatherford; her sister, Phila Weaver, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald C. Weatherford, and Samuel Benjamin Weatherford; her sister, Virginia Isagett; her granddaughter, Kelly Spring Pruitt Williams; and her niece, Rhonda Williams.
