Dorothy Ott Plummer

Dorothy "Dot" Plummer, age 93, died on Saturday August 11, 2018 . A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 14, at Lamar United Methodist Church, with a visitation following in the fellowship hall. A private burial will be held prior to the service, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born on May 13, 1925, she was the last surviving child of the late Onan Frederick Ott and Earline Lane Ott. Mrs. Dot was a school teacher for 32 years, teaching at Robert E. Lee Academy and Lamar High School. She was an avid Lamar High sports fan, and had been attending athletic events there for over 70 years. She also enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers, travelling and playing Bingo. She was member of Lamar United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed helping in the church fellowship hall. She is survived by her son, David "Buddy" Jesse Plummer, Jr. of Lamar, her daughter, JoLane Hall of Blythewood, and her grandchildren; Brockton, Jessica and Pierce Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Jesse Plummer, Sr., their infant daughter, and all of Mrs. Plummer's siblings.
