Dorothy "Dot" (Hicks) Sanders

Dorothy "Dot" Hicks Sanders, age 82 died Wednesday, February 16, 2022. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19th at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with burial following at Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington.

Born on June 29, 1939, Dot was the daughter of the late Bennie Hicks and Rosa Lee Rogers Hicks. She worked for ESAB for many years until her retirement. She was known to be a great baker, she loved her children, and she was always willing to help out at her church. Dot was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Donna (Bobby) Miller of Darlington, and Robbie (Robin) Sanders of Sumter; grandchildren, Laura (Eric) Pierre, Kristen Miller, Wesley Miller; three great-grandchildren, Brody Kennedy, Alyssa Pierre and Kelsee Pierre; siblings, Barbara (Billy) Rouse, Annette (Johnny) Stepp, Tootsie Kimery, Betty Floyd, James (Paula) Hicks, and Buddy (Landess) Hicks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sanders.
