Dorothy McKnight Green passed away at The McLeod Hospice House on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13th from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Belk Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will then be held in the Chapel at 6:00pm.

Dorothy was born August 14th, 1957 in Darlington to the late Brunson O. McKnight and Mildred Lynch McKnight. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom and raised her daughter Paige. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters and talking on the phone with Connie and Faye. She loved music and was a huge Mo-town fan.

Dorothy leaves behind her daughter Paige McKnight, her grandchildren: Jazmin McKnight, Makala O’Neal, and Travis O’Neal, her first great grandbaby Everleigh Reign Nelson as well as her brother J.D. McKnight, sister Connie McKnight of Camden, sister in law & best friend Faye McKnight and numerous nieces and nephews. Special foster-daughter Michelle Cristin Lloyd.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her siblings: Shelby Jean Anderson, Mildred “Pee Wee” McKnight, Laverne McKnight, Richard McKnight, Ronnie McKnight, Dianne McKnight, Mary Jane Holloway, and Baby Infant McKnight.

She was a kind lady and will be missed by many.
