Doris (Melton) Windham

Doris Melton Windham, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. A funeral service will take place at Belk Funeral Home on Friday, July 14 at 2:00pm, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Berea Church Cemetery.

Doris was born in Darlington County on August 13, 1939 to the late Rogers H. and Annie Viola Stokes Melton. Doris attended public schools in Lamar. Doris worked at Dixie Cup for many years. She had a love for people and enjoyed being around them any chance she got. Doris loved to bake, best known for her brownies and enjoyed doing activities and anything she could for her church, Berea Baptist.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ray, granddaughter, Lauren Smith, great-grandson, Bryson Smith and a brother, Rev. James C. (Barbara) Melton, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Windham

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Windham, daughter Deana Windham, brothers, Rev. Lawrence H. Melton, Rev. Billy Melton, Rev. Donny Melton, and sister Linda Grace Melton Byrd.
