Doris Brown Walters

Doris Brown Walters, age 94, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 16th at Central Baptist Church, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Belk Funeral Home. Born December 19, 1923, Doris is the daughter of the late John Alexander Brown and Irene Patrick Brown. She retired from James Rivers after more than 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, and she enjoyed her favorite holiday, Christmas. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Darlington. Surviving are her children, Bobby (Shirley) Hilton Walters of Easley; Patricia "Pat" Andrews of Florence, Judy (Laurie) Hanna of Timmonsville, and Susan Dove of Easley; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Cora Taylor of Darlington; and a special sister-in-law, Mildred Purvis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton E. Walters; and all of her siblings with the exception of Cora Taylor. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
