Dora Lynn Howell Flowers, age 61, died Friday, May 18, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Mt. Elon Baptist Church in Lydia at 4:00 on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday at Belk Funeral Home. Born in Darlington County on January 18, 1957, she is the daughter of the late William and Olivia "Lib" Welch Howell. Surviving are her husband, Jesse Flowers, son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Maria Flowers of Florence, son, Coleman Flowers of Darlington, daughter, Madison Flowers (Aaron Collins) of Darlington, grandchildren, Bentley, William and Alyssa, two brothers, Larry (Jean) Howell of Florence, Wayne (Pat) Howell of Oates, a sister, Brenda (Jerry) Ayers of Florence and many nieces and nephews. Dora Lynn loved life and she lived it to the fullest. She was far more concerned with making memories than making impressions. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved others more than herself. Her greatest love was for her family and friends. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved; the more the merrier. She would light up the room with her charming smile and engaging personality. She was a gifted storyteller who left all in her presence with a smile in their hearts and more than likely a cramp in their side from the laughter she always managed to provoke from her endless, yet true, hilarious stories.
