Dianne Watford Amerson

Dianne Watford Amerson, age 69, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 24th at Christian Pathway Church with burial following at Lamar Memorial Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Belk Funeral Home in Lamar. Born August 22, 1949, Dianne is the daughter of the late Howard Melvin Watford and Margaret Leoa Alexander Watford. She was married to the love of her life, Kenneth "Kenny" Amerson, who died in 2016. Dianne worked at G.E. for over 20 years; and then kept over 40 children at Dianne's Day Care. She had a passion for working in her yards, baking, and being involved in her church. She will be remembered for her smile, and for saying "I love you" at the end of every conversation. She was a member of Christian Pathway Church in Lamar. Surviving are her daughters, Denise (Ray) Smith and Julie (Ryan) Parnell; grandchildren, Dillon Parnell, Bryce Parnell, Tyler Smith, and Lauren Smith; great-grandson, Dawson Parnell; niece, Brenda (Rip) Parnell; brothers, Fred (Carolyn) Watford and Melvin (Lynn) Watford; special sister-in-law, Nellie Amerson; and special friend, Mickey Welch. She leaves behind a host of family and friends who she loved dearly. In addition to her husband, Kenneth Lavan Amerson, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Watford.
