Dennis "Pistol" Smith

Dennis "Pistol" James Smith, age 60, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Friends and family are invited to stop by to visit, share stories, reminisce, and support his family between 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday, May 26th at Belk Funeral Home.

Pistol was born in Hartsville on March 5, 1964, he is the son of the late Jennings Smith and Frances Grantham O'Neal. Pistol worked as a welder for Honda most recently as a security guard for Ruiz Foods in Florence. He loved to be out in the wilderness, whether it was up in a stand hunting or on the water fishing he always enjoyed it. Pistol was know to "debate" people, just for the fun of an argument.

Surviving Pistol is his wife, Teresa Baldwin Smith, daughter, Amy Smith, step-children, Robbie (Terre) Strickland and Kelly Strickland, grandson, T.J. Smith, and several step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia "Lou" Rogers, Vickie McKnight, and Pam Barr.

In addition to his parents, Pistol is preceded in death by his step-father who raised him, Presley O'Neal and his sister, Glenda "Cricket" Smith.
