Delton Munn

Delton R. Munn, son of the late R.L. and Mildred Godfrey Munn, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021. In his 81 years, Dell had much of which to be proud. He worked hard for many years, retiring from Nucor Steel Corporation in 1986. As a 23-year-old, Dell married his soul mate, Sandra, and they spent 58 loving years together. In that time, they raised two wonderful daughters, Sherri (Jeff) Helton and Amber (Eric) Jacobs. He loved and adored his four grandchildren, Haley (Austin) Rogers, Whitney (Jon) Shea, Zachary Jacobs, and Anna Morgan Jacobs as well as his great-granddaughter, Charley Kate Rogers.

Dell, who was best known as Papa, was a friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand and could fix anything! He enjoyed working to keep his yard pristine, growing beautiful flowers, visiting the neighbors on his golf cart, attending all things for his grandchildren, and drinking a good cup of coffee. He attended Elim Baptist Church where he enjoyed fellowship and food with them. He loved trying new things with his grandchildren and was always willing to learn something new.

The family will hold a private celebration of life. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Patrick Jebaily for his compassionate, loving, attentive care.
