Debra (Sherrill) Rotan

Debra Sherrill Rotan, age 67, passed away at her residence surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. A visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Friday, December 1st in the Lighthouse Church located at 1413 E. McIver Road in Florence. A memorial service will take place in the church at 3:00pm.

Debra was born in California on April 23, 1956, daughter of Richard Sherrill and the late Billie Rae Odom Sherrill.  She graduated high school from St. John's in Darlington and went on to college to pursue a career in nursing. Debra was a nurse at the Heritage Nursing Home for many years. She was a loving, family oriented lady, always enjoyed spending time with all of her family. She was a wonderful "GiGi" to her grandchildren, who she loved dearly.

Debra is survived by her husband of 34 years Earl Lee Rotan, Jr., her father, Richard Sherrill, children: Ashley (Eddie) Byrd of Florence, Angela R. (Dean) Lambert of Darlington, Earl Lee (Kate) Rotan, III of Sardis and Marty (Sarah) Rotan of Florence. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lucy Byrd, Cody Sanders, Brent Sanders, Ashton Rotan, Leah Lambert, Addison Lambert, Liam Rotan, Addie Gail Rotan, great-grandchildren, Jackson Esteridge, Grayson Rotan, and her nephew, Chad (April) Truluck and their children, Taylor and Chloe.

Debra is preceded in death by her mother, Billie Rae Sherrill and her sister, Connie Truluck.
