David Anthony Reynolds passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026. He was born on August 16, 1956 in Lamar, the son of the late Sarah Grady and Joe Reynolds. There will be a visitation celebration at Belk Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 5:00 until. It’s always “5 o’clock somewhere”!
David was married to Kay Norwood Reynolds, and they were together for 49 years. They enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Dave never met a stranger and always found the humor in any situation. He worked for Darlington County Roads & Bridges from 1972 till 1988. From 1988 until 2001 he was a SC Public Service DOT officer, where he retired.
In addition to his wife, Kay, he is survived by his two pet girls , Scout and Copper, brothers, Joe Reynolds, Jr., Dathon Reynolds and his wife Carol, his sister Daphene Howell and her husband Steve and his sister Lois Oliver and her husband Barry. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Barbara Byrd and her husband Marshall, his brother-in-law Jimmy Norwood and his wife Vicki. “Uncle Dave” also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. Included are Shannon Reynolds McMillan, DJ and Brandie Reynolds, Adam and Misty Howell, Brad Howell, Bari and Keith Schiff, Shane and Rachel Oliver, Dede and Stanford Hanna, Bill Norwood, Tori Norwood, and Cole and Grayson Norwood. His great nephews and nieces held a special place in his heart and included Finley Howell, Cynthia Howell, Harvey Schiff, Sydney Schiff, Aaron Schiff, Sara Ellen Hanna, Wake Norwood and a new nephew on-the-way, Miller Norwood. David’s only living Aunt is Joyce Ward. Kay would like to express her sincere appreciation to the staff at McLeod Hospice, especially the nurses and the techs for their kindness, love and care.
