David George Marlowe, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home, on January 9, 2026, after an extended illness.

He was born on May 29, 1939, and lived a life marked by strength, perseverance, and devotion to his family. David was a man of quiet resolve, known for his strong work ethic as a lifelong farmer, steady presence, and the love he held for those closest to him. He faced life with dignity and courage. David enjoyed playing a round of golf or fishing when he was able.

David is survived by his son, David Scott (Angelia) Marlowe; his daughter, Kimberly Marlowe. He is also survived by grandchildren: Alec, Candace (Joseph), Adam, Kyle, Kevin,  Abbigale (of the home), Jordan, Taylor, Tanner; his great-grandchildren , his former wife, friend and caregiver of 35 years, Gail Boyd Marlowe ; extended family members and his step-children: Amber and Priscilla

He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva and Paul Marlowe; his son, Michael David Marlowe ; two sisters; Hazel Weaver and Rosalee Richardson and brothers Bruce and Braxton Marlowe.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to those who offered prayers, kindness, and support during this difficult time.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 Monday, January 12, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 a the funeral home Monday and other times at the home.

David will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
