David Nicholas Allan, who entered eternal rest on August 27, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 29, 1949, in Detroit, MI, son of Robert Allan and Loretta Slater Allan .David led a life marked by adventure, resilience, and commitment to his loved ones. David was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the 101st Airborne Infantry, displaying courage and dedication that defined his character. After his service, he found his calling as a long-distance truck driver with Interstate Distributor, navigating the open roads and sharing stories from his journeys with family and friends. His love for adventure was only rivaled by the love he had for his family. David is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Allan, He also leaves behind his sister, Susie (Greg) Hodson of Bonita Springs, Florida also his son Ken (Susan) Powell of Jacksonville, Florida, and their grandchildren: Madeline (Tristan) Painschab, Anna Belle (Ernesto) Delgado, River and Palmer Painschab and veteran friend Robert Bunch. A memorial service to honor David's remarkable life will take place at Belk Funeral Home on August 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to join in this celebration of David's lasting legacy, to share fond memories, and to pay tribute to a life well-lived.  His ashes will be interred at Florence National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to: Disabled American Veterans, Chapter: FD Roosevelt#11 c/o: Robert Bunch 732 Weaver St., Darlington, SC 29532.
