It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia "Cyndi" Lee Rice, who left this world after a long bout with cancer on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on March 31, 1969, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Lee Wilcox and Patricia Mitchum Hobbs. Cyndi will be remembered for her loving spirit and unwavering dedication to her family.
Cyndi worked in clerical administration for many years. She enjoyed spending her time cooking and caring for others. Her legacy of love shines brightest in the way she mothered not only her own, but so many others who found comfort and care in her presence. Cyndi loved nothing more than a trip to the beach and a good book in hand. She poured her heart into teaching her children and grandchildren to be kind and gracious, always reminding them to offer the same grace to others that she so freely gave. Cyndi is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Rice. She leaves behind a vibrant legacy through her children, Nichole (Steve) Lauffer, Rebecca (Josh) Langston, Jordan Rice, Caroline Rice, and Blayke Rice, along with her cherished son, Jr Rice. Also, her stepson Tristan Crow. Her nephew, Braylin Griggs, who she cherished as her own. Her siblings: Sheila (Tony) Charron, James (Denise) Crosby, Kenneth (Amanda) Cosby, and Stephen (Liz) Wilcox. Her grandchildren: Ethan, Kolbi, Sydney, Wesley, and one on the way: baby Chandler. Along with her many nieces and nephews. Her mother Patricia (Drew) Hobbs will forever hold her memory close to her heart. Cyndi was preceded in death by her son Little Mark.
To honor Cyndi's life and the love she shared with those around her, funeral services will be held at Belk Funeral Home. A visitation for friends and extended family will be on September 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM.
Cynthia Lee Rice's spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with her love as we navigate the days ahead. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, and her presence will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
