Coke C. Pipkin

Coke Chesley Pipkin, age 87, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 3:00 PM in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Funeral Home and other times at the home of Randall and Mona Pipkin, 621 Ascot Dr. in Florence, SC. Born January 27, 1930, Coke was the son of the late Coke Joseph Pipkin and the late Lucille Segars Pipkin. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 49 years of service. He was owner and operator of Pipkin Well Drilling and Plumbing and was known for being generous towards everyone he served in his business. Coke was a member of Indian Branch United Methodist Church. Surviving are his daughters, Brenda P. (Jeff) Howell of Timmonsville, and Edie P. Bailey of Darlington; his son, Randall C. (Mona) Pipkin of Florence; his grandchildren, J. Ryan (Anjanette) Howell of Timmonsville, Jared (Jennifer) Howell of Hampton, VA, Jessica (Chase) Menasco of Darlington and Taylor Pipkin of Columbia, SC; his great-grandchildren, Kody Gulledge, Ethan Howell, Evan Howell, Jaxson Howell, Kassidy Menasco, and Jamison Howell. Coke is also survived by a brother, Wayne (Peggy) Pipkin of Florence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo King Pipkin; his son, Robert Pipkin; his brothers, Joe Pipkin, John Pipkin, Maurice Pipkin; his sister, DeEtte Blackman, and his son-in-law, Danny Bailey. The family would like to thank The Heritage Home of Florence and all of the staff for the wonderful loving care, compassion and service that they provided for him. A special thanks to his nurse, Triese and staff, who stayed with him during those last hours. The family would also like to thank Agape Hospice for all of their service and compassion. Memorials may be made to church or charity of one's choice.
