Melinda Fuller courageously lost her battle to cancer on Saturday, October 12th, 2024. A visitation will be held at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington on Wednesday, October 16th from 4 to 5pm and a Celebration of her Life will be following at 5pm in the Belk Funeral Home Chapel.
She was born to Tom and Suzanne Fuller on September 2nd, 1972, in Blytheville, Arkansas. She received her undergraduate and master's degree from Francis Marion University and became a licensed clinical therapist. She served her patients with unconditional and sometimes tough love but at the end of the day, she loved all of them dearly. She was always an advocate for those who needed support. She loved animals and graciously volunteered her time and resources with the Florence Area Humane Society.
Although cancer took her body, her spirit and life's work will live on through her "Team" that she so dearly loved. Her "Team" consisted of her family, friends, patients/ clients, fellow clinicians/counselors and her fur babies (Charlie and Ellie).
Melinda's family would like to thank the loving doctors and nurses at McLeod Health that took care of her throughout her fight. There were so many of them that loved her and treated her so specially and with the upmost care. Dr. Rao and Amy with the oncology team, Trish and Stacy with the IV therapy team, Becky and Edith on the oncology floor, Michelle and Kiersten in ICU, Dr. Pannu, Dr. Alaska, Dr. Bharadwaj and countless other nurses and aids. The oncology nurses at McLeod are really angels in disguise. Special thanks also go out to her close and devoted friends that worked with her and helped her, especially through these last few difficult months. Ronda, Faith, Martha, Misty, Hallsy, Marlena, Ellis and countless others, your help is immeasurable, and we will always be grateful for it.
She leaves behind her husband Marty Honney of Timmonsville, her parents Tom and Suzanne Fuller of Kingstree, her sisters Nancy Fuller (Jesse Roach) of Washington, D.C. and Charlynn Fuller (Jason Williamson) of Raleigh, NC, mother-in-law Melba Honney and her lifelong best friend Dawn Ivey.
