Cindy Brown Lee went home to her Lord on Monday, February 23, 2026. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home of Darlington, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6:00 p.m. in the Belk Chapel.
She was born in Darlington, South Carolina, to John “J.C.” Brown and Gladys Brown on June 25th, 1956. Cindy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and woman of faith whose life was defined by love, service, and kindness to others.
She married the love of her life, Marion “Mark” E. Lee, III, and together they built a loving family. She was a proud and devoted mother to her two children, Marcus and Misty, who were the center of her world. Throughout her life, Cindy worked a variety of jobs, including positions at Nytronics, Sutton Best Aviation and PPM Security. She also worked in a florist shop, vinyl siding, and served faithfully as a sitter and caregiver. No matter the role, Cindy approached her work with dedication and a caring heart, always willing to help others. Cindy loved the Lord deeply and cherished her family above all else. She found joy in cooking for others, bird watching, and surrounding herself with flowers—simple pleasures that reflected her gentle and nurturing spirit.
She leaves behind her husband Mark, son Marion “Marcus” E. Lee, IV, Daughter Misty Lee Butler, her grandchildren: Marion “Adam” Lee, Patrick “Devin” Butler, and Mason Tyler Lee. Her siblings: John “JR” Brown, Clyde “Danny” Brown. She was a proud member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
Cindy Brown Lee will be remembered for her faith, her compassion, and the love she shared so freely with everyone she met. Cindy’s family would like to give her daughter in law Julie F. Lee and the McLeod Hospice Group a special thank you for all of their care with Cindy.
Memorials may be made in her honor to: McLeod Hospice c/o McLeod Foundation, Po Box 100551, Florence, SC 29505-0551, www.mcleodfoundation.org or St. Judes , www.stjude.org
