Christy Lynn Weatherford

Christy Lynn Weatherford, age 50, passed away on September 9, 2024. A memorial service for Christy will be held in Belk Funeral Home at 5:30pm on Thursday, September 12th. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.

Christy was born in Darlington on December 2, 1973, daughter of Betty Horne. She was raised by her mother and step-father Ervin Horne. Christy graduated from Lamar High School in 1993. Mrs. Weatherford was a dedicated animal lover, she was always taking in and adopting dogs and cats. She was the co-owner/operator of Pee Dee Treasures and Pee Dee Junk Removal.

Surviving Christy is her mother, Betty Horne, husband, Mike Weatherford, two daughters, Brittany Gandy and Ashley Prentice both of Hartsville, her two sisters, Gwendolyn Corley and Nicole (Jermaine)Tyson. She is also survived by her rescue dogs, Bear, Dandy,Buttercup,Honeybun, and Boudreaux, and her shop cat Chicken Nugget.

Christy is preceded in death by her step-father, Ervin Horne who passed away in June of 2024.

Services will be led by friend and Reverend Andy Williams of Elim Methodist Church.
