Christine Belva Miles Evans, age 81, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, September 9th in Temple Free Will Baptist Church, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The grandchildren will honor their grandmother by serving as pallbearers. Born March 1, 1936, Christine is the daughter of the late Walter R. Miles and Ethelda Miles. She worked as a waitress for several restaurants. She was a charter member of Vision Assembly and loved playing piano and singing gospel music for them and also for Medford Nursing Home, Darlington Church of God, and enjoyed helping with nursing home tape ministry. She was a member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Melvin J. "Joey" (Cheryl) Evans, Jr., Johnny Evans, Jerry (Suzzie) Evans, Terry (Alisa) Evans, and Daniel Evans, all of Darlington; her daughter, Lynn Ford of Florence; her sister, Kathleen Lyles of Tabor City; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at Belk Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
