Chris Suggs

It is with great sadness that the family of Christopher Vardley Suggs, Sr. announce his passing on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 53.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington, SC and other times at his brother Rodney's home at 603 Potato House Road in Darlington. Funeral services will be held in the Belk Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2pm with immediate burial following the service at Odom Cemetery.

Chris was born on July 27, 1971, in Darlington, SC to Wallace Suggs and Judy Rae Barnhill Suggs. A skilled general carpenter, Chris dedicated much of his life to the construction industry. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and watching NASCAR.

Chris is survived by his children, Heather (Matt) Gandy, Krista Suggs, Christopher (Amber) Suggs, Blake (Rachel) Crawford, Tyler (Heather) Crawford, and Alexis Suggs. He is also survived by his siblings: Gloria Jean (Dwayne) Latham, Wallace Lee (Brenda) Suggs, both of Darlington; Lois (Benji) Sims of Lancaster; Rodney Suggs of Darlington; and Danielle Robinson, along with his 23 cherished grandchildren.  Along with his companion of 23 years Candy Sims and her daughter Kasey Sims.

Chris will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his family, and his many passions that brought him joy in life. He will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
