Charles Joseph "Joey" Moody, Jr.

Charles Joseph Moody, Jr., age 61 and beloved son and fifth child of the late Ada Lee Allen Moody and Charles Joseph Moody, Sr., passed away Thursday, July 11th at Roper Hospice in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  He was born October 17, 1957, in Darlington, SC, at Wilson's Clinic.  Joey was raised in Darlington's First Baptist Church and was a Cub Scout. In addition, he was a graduate of St. John's High School, where he played on the tennis team, and attended Francis Marion College. He was employed by Southeastern Landscaping.

Joey was a kind and loving soul and leaves behind four older sisters: Corinne Moody O'Steen, Florence; JoAnne Moody Cusaac, Darlington; Becky Moody Williamson (David), Mt. Pleasant; and Jacqueline Moody McLaurin (Frank Dunninger), Lakewood Ranch, Florida. In addition, he leaves behind his special aunts and uncle, Lilabelle Moody, Jackie Eidson, and John Allen (Josie), his girlfriend Faye Lloyd, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and niece, Lelia McLaurin.

Family and friends whose lives were touched by Joey are welcome to attend his memorial service in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home on July 28th at 2:00.  The family will greet guests following the service. Graveside will be private.
