Charles "Chip" Howard Carr, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2024. A graveside service will take place in Florence Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, January 24th at 1:00pm.
Chip was baptized as a young man at Calvary Baptist Church in Darlington and later started attending Swift Creek Baptist with his mother, Aunt Lynn and Granny Barber.
Chip was born in Izmir, Turkey on September 12th, 1963, while his father was in the service. He is the son of the late Charles Howard Carr, Sr., and Joyce Ann Barber Carr. Chip always enjoyed working and talking through his CB, you could find him almost always listening to his scanner to stay up to date on daily happenings around Darlington. He owned his own landscaping company and took pride in making the lawns he cut look nice. Chip never met a stranger, especially at the local Takis Restaurant, which was his favorite, he loved dining and socializing there.
Chip is survived by his wife Sue Carr and stepson Myrick Hatcher, two uncles, David Barber, Jerry (Karen) Barber, and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Chip is preceded in death by his cousins, Lisa Ann Boozer, and Richard Peter Thornton.
