Charles L. Davis

Charles Davis, age 86 passed away at McLeod Hospice House on Wednesday, May 31,2023.

Charles was born in Bethune, SC on March 13,1937 to Donnie B and Verlie C. Davis.  He graduated from Bethune High School. He married Linda McKinnon in 1959.

Charles served in The United States Army from 1960 to 1962 in Washington DC. He retired from Dixie Cup after 33 years and served on the Board of Directors for Dixie Federal Credit Union for 30 years. He loved spending time at home with family and working in his yard.  He enjoyed watching the Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He was predeceased by his parents and beloved wife of 60 years, Linda.

Charles is survived by his daughter Beverly(Jim) Watson of Darlington and son Chris(Sue) Davis of Santee.  Three granddaughters Laura (Darren) Byrd, Brittany (Josh) Sowers and Jill(Jennings) Byrd, four great grandchildren Kingsley and Karoline Byrd and Jentry and Baylor Sowers and two brothers Donald (Saranne) Davis and Jimmy Davis. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 5th at 10:30 inTurkey Creek Cemetery in Bethune.
