Charles Edward Boykin

Charles Edward Boykin, age 77, passed away at his residence on October 20, 2023. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 23rd from 2:00pm until 3:00pm in Belk Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 3:00pm, with burial immediately following the service in Darlington Memory Gardens.

Charles was born in Lee County on August 13, 1946, son of the late Perry Boykin and Lillie Mae Wilson Boykin. He was raised by Mary Suggs and Charlie Suggs also Frankie Suggs who was like a brother to him. He worked as a mechanic at a bus shop for the state of South Carolina for 15 years. Charles was very talented when it came to working with his hands, having worked as a mechanic with Darlington County School District and was also a great carpenter.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Bridget O'Neal and Brandi Folsom; grandchildren, Bradley Johnson, Amber O'Neal, Britney O'Neal, Whitney O'Neal, Blaze Folsom, Remington Graham, Rhett Graham, Ryland Graham and Annabelle Johnson. Also surviving is his caregiver, mother of Bridget and Brandi, Mollie Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Phillip Boykin.
