Cecil Troy James

Cecil Troy James, age 85, died Monday, January 25, 2016 at the McLeod Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Thursday, January 28th in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with burial following in Indian Branch Cemetery. Born in Darlington on August 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Troy and Georgia Brown James. He was a lifelong farmer in the Indian Branch Community. He had also worked for and retired from Smith-Douglas Fertilizer. Cecil was a life-long member of Indian Branch United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for 50 years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Steve Weatherford, grandchildren, Bethany, Stevie and Michael Weatherford, and his sister, Anna Lee Sneed of Griffin, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances James and sisters, Olli Mae Wilson and Lois Lane. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Belk Funeral Home. The family expresses their gratitude to his caregivers, Betsy Ross and Lib Hill and also Dr. William Boulware and his staff.
