Carlton Bland, 85, died Monday, October 26th. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 29th, at Florence National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 before the service at Belk Funeral Home.

Carlton was born on November 11, 1940, in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late Sam and Myrl Bland. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed working with his hands and could fix just about anything. He was skilled in operating tractors and heavy machinery and had experience in construction. Carlton was also knowledgeable in computers, having spent many years working as an IBM computer technician. Whether he was working on a project around the house, repairing equipment, or helping friends and family, Carlton enjoyed staying busy and putting his many skills to good use.

He is survived by his wife; Evelyn Bland his sister; Marcia Stegner, step sons; James McCall and Roy McCall, step daughter; Kelly Creeron, and nieces; Lori Griggs and Shannon Franklin.

Carlton was preceded in death by: his parents listed above, and brother; Ronnie Bland.
