Carl W. Satterfield, Sr.

Carl W. Satterfield, Sr. age 91, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 3rd from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Belk Funeral Home. His funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 12:00pm, with interment following in Darlington Memory Gardens.

Carl was born on October 12, 1932 in Dahlonega, Georgia, son of the late Benjamin Satterfield and Fannie Ceronia Carder Satterfield. Carl served in the United States Merchant Marines. He worked as a Drag Line Operator for many years allowing him the opportunity to travel frequently. Carl loved 72' Ford pickups and was a proud owner of one that he always enjoyed working on.

Carl is survived by his children, Marilyn (Mike) Howle of Darlington, Janice (Al) Britt of Darlington, and Carl (Tonya) Satterfield, Jr. of Summerville, his grandchildren, Mandy (James) Dargan , Matthew (Brittany) Howle, Mason (Lacey) Howle, Josh Britt, Abbie Britt, Trevor and Jacob Satterfield. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and sister Ruth Parker of Dahlonega, GA.

In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Taylor Britt, and two brothers, Glenn Satterfield and J.C. Satterfield.
