Carl Samuel Corbin

Carl Samuel (Sam or Sambo) Corbin, age 77, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022.  A visitation will be held in Belk Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00am until 12:00pm. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 12:00pm, burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Wendy Fortier 706 Hawthorne Drive Florence, SC following services.

Sambo was born in Beaufort, SC on March 9, 1945. Sambo is the son of the late Brantley Benjamin Corbin and Augusta Joanne Walker Corbin. Sambo retired from the construction industry and enjoyed gardening. He also attended Northgate Baptist Church in Florence.

He is survived by his wife, Betty "Pud" Corbin, daughters; Farris Corbin Smith, Wendy (Russ) Fortier all of Florence, Samantha (Ty) Hardymon of Yuma, AZ, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brothers; Gene A. Corbin, Douglas M. (Tillie) Corbin, and a sister, Mary Corbin Blancher.

In addition to his parents, Sambo is preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin Corbin, Keller Corbin, and Brooks Corbin.
