Buster Junior Weatherford, age 62 died Monday, January 10, 2022. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13th at Mechanicsville Baptist Church with burial following on his property at 2549 Cashua Ferry Rd. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Belk Funeral Home.
Born on December 20, 1959, Buster was the son of the late Buster Weatherford and Ella Mae Griggs Weatherford. He worked as a fire brick mason until 2004, and then became a part-time farmer and store owner of the Country Store, then Cashua Ferry Convenience a.k.a. "Buster's", all in the Mechanicsville Community. He was a "softball dad" and enjoyed watching his daughter play. Buster loved coon hunting, and in later years, sitting on the porch at the store talking. He was a member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Cynthia "Cindy" Matthews Weatherford; four daughters, Cynthia (Al) Anderson of Conway, Lee Moody, Brittani (Donnie) Stuart, and Adrianna Weatherford, all of Darlington; grandchildren, Little Al Anderson, A.J. Manship, Joyce Manship, Harley Strader, and a special grandson, Colden Stuart; sisters, Bobbie Leger, Penny Dority and Genny Weatherford.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Brooks Atkinson, Ernest Atkinson, Robert Atkinson, and Ann Weatherford.
