Buddy Thames

Carlisle "Buddy" O. Thames, Jr., age 67, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Born on July 21, 1953, Buddy was the son of the late Carlisle O. Thames, Sr. and Frances Louise Summerford. He retired as Operations Manager of Motion Industries. He was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan who also enjoyed playing golf at Oakdale Country Club in his younger days. He was a very loving father and grandfather. His wisdom touched many people over the years.

Surviving are his daughter, Mary Frances (Cassie) Thames; grandchildren, Bentley Johnson, all of Florence; sister, Dale Bryan; brothers, Donnie Thames and Mike (Cecelia) Thames; brother-in-law, Andy Fike; sister-in-law, Connie Fike; nieces and nephews, Courtney, Addison, and T.J.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by the love of his life Sharon Thames.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home, with entombment following at the mausoleum of Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington.
