Buddy Rogers

William "Buddy" McIver Rogers, age 85, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 27, 2024. A visitation will be held in Belk Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 30th from the times of 1:00pm until 2:00pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00pm, with burial immediately following in Indian Branch Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors at other times at the home of Robin and Mark Willis at 1800 Thistle Ct in Florence, SC.

Buddy was born in Darlington on December 14, 1938 to the late Willy Clinton Rogers and Margaret Grace Brown Rogers. Buddy worked for NUCOR for many years until retirement. He then went back to college and obtained a degree in heating and air. Mr. Rogers served in the National Guard and was an auxiliary police officer. Buddy always enjoyed woodworking, he was a naturally gifted woodworker and cabinet maker. Mr. Rogers was a member of Indian Branch United Methodist Church.

Surviving Buddy is his wife, Dottie L. James Rogers, his three daughters, Robin (Mark) Willis of Florence, Cindy (Mike) Gardner of Darlington, Kelly (Clint) Mixon of Florence. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and his two sisters, Margie Dudley and JoAnn (Steve) O'Neal.

In addition to his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by his three sisters, Ophelia Todd, Barbara Bryant, Valerie Caulder and two great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Everleigh Rogers.
