Buck Register

James "Buck" Register passed away Monday, April 6th, 2026 at his residence after an illness. A visitation will be held for him on Wednesday, April 8th from 2 to 3 pm at Belk Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held in the Belk Funeral Home Chapel at 3pm. He will be laid to rest in the Dovesville Church of God Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitors at his home at other times on Register Drive.

Buck was born August 5th, 1958 in Darlington to the late Robert "Bob" H. and Mary Ella Griggs Register. He worked for 20 plus years with Darlington County as a heavy equipment operator. He met and married the love of his life Donna Gainey Register and shared forty-five years of marriage. He enjoyed being outdoors and fiddling with lawnmowers.

He leaves behind his wife Donna Register, Ryan Cameron his nephew who was like a son to him, Greshan Cameron, Kim Logan, Gene (Tonya) Ham, Monroe (Cheyenne Graham) Ham and their little girl Huntley, Lizzie Durant and many other nieces and nephews. His surviving siblings: William (Katie) Register, Sandra Register (Allen) Moody, Otis (Norma Jean Watford) Register, Randy Register, Ken (Elisha) Register, and Rusty (Charlotte) Register.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his brother Sarge Register, and his in laws Kathleen and Monroe Gainey.
