Bobby J. Adams

Robert "Bobby" J. Adams, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Monday, January 9 in First Baptist Church Darlington, with a visitation following the service in the sanctuary. Other times the family will be at the home of Melissa and Brian Schwier 109 Virginia Drive in Darlington.

Bobby was born in Darlington on May 16, 1951. He is the son of Ivy Elizabeth Stroud Adams and the late Kinchen Adams. Bobby worked for many years at Lazy Boy and then later worked at Manheim Auto Auction as a transporter. Mr. Adams enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed family dinners and listening to rock music.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Jeannette Therrell Adams of Hartsville, children, Melannie Riley of Hartsville and Rob (Heather) Howle of Ridgeland, step-son Jaime Douglas, grandchildren: Justin, Blake, Riley, Ella, and Hayden, step-grandchildren Nicholas and Cameron Douglas, siblings: Claude Stroud of Hartsville, Vivian (Skip) Skipworth of Charleston, Vikki (Phillip) Adams Guyton of Florence, Ivy Adam (Rene) Landry of Darlington, Sabrina (Randy) White of Hartsville, Melissa (Brian) Schwier of Darlington, Kinchen (Kimberly) Adams of Florence, and many nieces and nephews.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Kinchen Adams, sister, Carolyn Griffin, and brother, Tommy Dixon.
