Bobbie Jean Williamson Gandy

Bobbie Jean Williamson Gandy, age 73 died Thursday, September 2, 2021. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5th at Mechanicsville Baptist Church with burial following at Mechanicsville Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.

Born on April 10, 1948, Bobbie was the daughter of the late Erbie Williamson and  Rev. Addie Hill Williamson. She was employed at Sherman Manufacturing and later worked as the bookkeeper at Darlington Veneer. She enjoyed sewing and loved studying the Bible and going to church. Bobbie considered herself an evangelist and loved spreading God's word to several outreach and nursing home ministries. She was a member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Tony Underwood of Lexington, NC, Penny U. (William) Hatchell of Savannah, GA, David (Sarah) Underwood of Cheraw, Samantha (Joshua) Von Merta of Darlington; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Dwight Williamson; a special "adopted daughter", Angelia Truluck; and a special niece, Christine Gainey, and a special nephew, Lawrence Williamson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lanneau Williamson and Earl Williamson; a sister, Margaret Sanders; nephews, Ellis Williamson and Kenneth Williamson.
