Betty Watford Lloyd

Betty Watford Lloyd, age 91, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30th in Belk Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. A funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 3:00pm, with burial immediately following in Darlington Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Betty was born in Ridgeway, SC on November 8, 1932, daughter of the late Leon Watford and Bessie Cooper Watford. She worked at Dixie Cup for 40 years as a re-inspector. Betty loved to travel and was a member of a travel club for many years. Betty is the last survivor out of the seven Lloyd siblings and their spouses. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Surviving Betty are her children, Donna Floyd and Marsha Smith; grandchildren, Tammy (Bruce Irick), David (Keni) Johnson, Jennifer Sanderson, Jamie (Lakin) Smith; great-grandchildren, Carrie Irick, Nathan Irick, Avery Sanderson, Laila Smith, Gavin Smith. Betty is also survived by her brother, Charles Watford and sister Peggy (Dexter) Patrick.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edwin Harold Lloyd, Sr; son, Edwin "Eddie" Lloyd, Jr., sons-in-law, Dale Floyd and James F. "Jimmy" Smith, Sr., and her sister-in-law, Marlene Watford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnels2Towers at 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, The Lord Cares Ministries at P.O. Box 1457 Darlington, SC 29540, or a charity of one's choice.
