Betty (Fechter) Blanton

Betty F. Blanton was born on February 14, 1956 to the late Robert Fechter Sr. & Mary Shaw in Virginia. She passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC on Sunday, June 4th, 2023 with family by her side.

Betty was a career engineer . She loved sharing memories of her time  with her family and the staff at Honorage Nursing Center. Betty enjoyed playing cards, bingo, watching TV, and spending time with her family and friends. Betty really enjoyed celebrating  Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve every year. Betty was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and loved reading her Mother's bible which she treasured.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Darryl Blanton; a brother, Robert Fechter; and her best friend, Ellie Tribble.

Betty is survived by her son, Donald Wayne (Diane) McCorquodale of Dunn, NC; her daughters, Cynthia Ann Pollitzer of Pikeville, NC and Angela Stanley of Scranton, SC; grandchildren, Kaylee McCorquodale, Dalton McCorquodale, Dakota McCorquodale, Christopher Tyler (Ashley) McCorquodale, and Aiden Pollitzer and great grand-child Riley May McCorquodale.

The family would like to express our deepest thanks to all of her friends and staff at Honorage Nursing Center, and to all the nurses and staff at McLeod Hospice House who made the last days of her life comfortable.
