Bertha Mae Leopard Johnson, age 93 passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016. Funeral services will be held 4:00pm Wednesday, September 14th at Temple Free Will Baptist Church in Darlington, with burial following at Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born in Darlington, Mrs. Johnson is the daughter of the late Alvin Leopard and Martha Ethelyn Weaver Leopard. She was married to the late Leroy Johnson for 65 years. Bertha Mae worked for the Cotton Mill; and then retired from Dixie Cup after 25 years. She enjoyed doing crafts, singing, and being with her family. She was a member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church where she also sang in the church choir.
Surviving are her son, Ricky D. (Iris) Johnson of Darlington; her daughters, Kathy (Don) Miller of Florence, and Gayle (Mike) Beckham of Darlington; her grandchildren, Gary (Laura) Miller, Brad (Dana) Miller, Rick (Raven) Johnson, Rita Johnson Anderson, Kelly (Johnny Ray) Anderson, Billy Brasington, 20 great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Sonja Watkins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, September 13th at Belk Funeral Home.
