Ben Ellisor

Wilton "Ben" W. Ellisor, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the McLeod Hospice House. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 15th at Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Florence. The family will be at the home, 118 Timberlake Dr.

Ben was born in West Columbia, SC on November 27, 1935, son of the late Theodore and Zona Steele Ellisor.  Mr. Ellisor served in the United States Air Force during the end of the Korean War. He worked in the computer industry, first with adding machines and cash registers, later evolving to computer parts and accessories. He enjoyed playing golf in his free time. Mr. Ellisor volunteered his time helping to build wheelchair ramps and picking up litter with Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, where he was member for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Dreher Ellisor, a daughter, Kim Ellis, a daughter-in-law, Shannon Ellisor, grandchildren: Sean (Debbie) Parker, Aron Ellisor, Victoria Richardson and Isabella Ellisor, a sister, Gayle (Jimmy) Courtney of Prosperity, a brother, Bob (Sue) Ellisor of West Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his son, Sam Ellisor.

Memorials may be made to Cross and Crown Lutheran Church or the Lutheran World Hunger Fund.
