DARLINGTON- Barbara Gunter Truett, 66, died Friday December 18, 2015 in McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday ,December 21 at Wayside Baptist Church in Bishopville ( 2685 Lee State Park Rd.) Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Truett was born in Marlboro County the daughter of Louise Brown Gunter Mouzon and the late Clarence Gunter. She was a homemaker; the "neighborhood nanny and taxi driver" and a member of Wayside Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church family.
Mrs. Truett is survived by her mother, Louise B. Gunter Mouzon; her husband , Leonard Truett of Darlington; sons: Robert "Len" (Brandi Roselli) Gainey, William (Cami)Truett ,Robbie (Debra) Truett and Tony Truett, all of Darlington; daughters: Lisa (Woody) Barber, Tonya Williamson, Teresa (Tim) Odom Briskie and Bonnie (Steve) Culpepper, all of Darlington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Charity Gainey; brother, Darrell (Hope)Gunter of Thompson, GA and sister, Linda Brownly of Sumter.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by sons: Ronnie Gainey, Julius Monroe Gainey III, and Frankie Nobles; brother, Clarence Gunter, Jr. and step-father, Dargan Mouzon.
