Barbara Jean Ritz

Barbara Jean Ellis Ritz, age 73, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 14th in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born June 2, 1943 in Charleston, WV, Barbara is the daughter of the late Rush Ellis and Mamie White Ellis. She worked as a seamstress and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Barbara was associated with the Methodist faith. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Douglas M. Ritz; her children, Kerry (Julie) Ritz, Nedra (Todd) Jeffords; her granddaughter, BreeAnna Jeffords, all of Darlington; her sister, Joan Bowles of Seneca; her beloved nieces and nephews; and her childhood friend, Bonnie Crowder Burke. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob, Jack, Emerson, Emery, Gene, Ron Ellis; and her sister, Hazel Wright.
