Barbara Jordan
Odom
Nov 21, 1947 — Jul 7, 2026
DARLINGTON
Barbara “Babs” Jordan Odom passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 due to complications following a surgical procedure. A visitation will be held for her Friday, July 10th from 2:00 to 3:00pm at Belk Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 pm, with burial following at Darlington Memory Gardens.
“Babs” was born November 21, 1947 in Opa-Locka, Florida to the late William Paul Jordan and Mary Henderson Jordan Korytkowski. She attended Hialeah High School and was raised in the Catholic faith. Barbara worked for over 20 years as the Office Manager for Moseley Outdoor Power Equipment. She was proud to be a “work mom” to everyone that worked there and thought of them as part of her family.
Babs would tell you she didn’t know what she wanted to be when she grew up. Besides her talent with numbers, she was very creative and had a flair for decorating. She worked as a florist at Hines Funeral Home for many years. Prior, she owned and operated her own flower and gift shop, the Flower Basket.
Barbara had a positive outlook, embraced life and was always ready for the next adventure. She loved going to plays, out to dinner with friends, catching u over a cup of coffee, or playing a competitive game of cards. She was learning to play Mahjong. She appreciated a good movie, a concert (KISS and the Pentatonix being her favorites) and dinner at the Melting Pot. She would play “BJ the DJ” and make everyone guess the name of the song and the singer. She took pleasure in planting flowers and decorating her home. She was a huge animal lover and found joy in feeding and watching the birds.
Babs had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. Being a bit playful, she enjoyed a good joke which kept her family and friends entertained and on their toes. She was a supportive friend to everyone she loved and their biggest cheerleader. She worked to keep up relationships. Her strong spirit, enthusiasm and joy for life will be greatly missed.
Barbara leaves behind her daughter Susan (William) Weesner of Darlington, grandson Jacob Weesner of Hopkins, several cousins, her work family at Moseley and many friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, siblings Paula Jordan Allen and Greg Jordan, and her close friend and former husband Lee Odom.
Memorials may be made in her honor to the Darlington Humane Society at 580 Washington Street, Hartsville, SC 29550.
