Barbara Nixon-Kolesar

Barbara Ann Nixon-Kolesar also known as Barb, age 70, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at her residence. The family will hold a service for Barbara, April 27th at 2:00 pm with a memorial service at Christian Pathway Church in Lamar.

Barbara was born in Allegheny, PA on March 27, 1954. She is the daughter of the late Robert Earl Leggett and Virginia Lipnicky Leggett. She was a special needs teacher for many years. Barb loved being on the farm raising and training horses, she was an equestrian therapy and training instructor along with being a champion barrel racer. Horseback riding and attending barrel racing competitions was Barb's life, she loved every moment of it. In 1999 she had a spinal cord injury that changed everything for her, she could no longer tend to and ride her horses like she once could. Despite her injury, Barb always found joy in life and kept a clean house and found many hobbies like refinishing antiques to enjoy her free time.

Barb is survived by her husband, John J. "Jack" Kolesar, her son Wade (Lori) Nixon of PA and her sister and brother-in-law, Camille and Nicholas Kolesar.
