Azalee R. Smith

Azalee Elizabeth Rutland Smith died November 28, 2017 in a local hospital. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, November 29th in Lamar Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home. She was born April 10, 1943 in Atlanta, GA, to the late Edgar H. Rutland and Betty Lula Bell Hendrix. Azalee ran a store for 10 years in Lamar and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of Fair Hope Church. Surviving are her two daughters: Debbie (Tim) Tadlock of Lamar, Teresa Hall of Bishopville; a grandson, John Barry Jordan, II, a great-grandson, John Barry Jordan, III, five siblings: Roy Rutland, Jeanette Anglin, J. B. Rutland, David Rutland and Dan Rutland. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bo Smith of 53 years. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice 2182 W.
