Alice Grantham O'Neal stepped into the arms of Jesus on December 27, 2025. She is now pain free and breathing with clear lungs. She passed away peacefully at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
Alice was born on January the 30th, 1938 in Darlington, SC. She graduated from St. John's High School in 1955. She was voted Homecoming Queen and cutest of her Senior Class. Her children would agree she was Queen of the family as well.
She served as a secretary for Bristow Oil Company for more than 40 years, demonstrating integrity in all of her endeavors. She considered her co-workers family. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at the Lord Cares and at Wilson Hospital.
In her spare time, Alice loved working in her yards, planting flowers. Even when her health failed her and she could not physically do it herself, she always wanted pretty flowers planted.
More than anything, Alice loved her Lord, her family, her friends, and her church. There was nothing more important to her than knowing and loving Jesus. Her prayer was that all of her children and grands be saved. Even in her hardest days, she knew that God was always in control. Her faith never wavered. Her family grieves, but not without hope. She is more alive now than she has ever been.
Alice was preceded in death by her precious parents, Vance and Ruth Hardin, her husband, Thomas H. O'Neal, and her grandson, Dustan B. Jordan. She is survived by her four children, Michael (Alta) Jordan of Lexington, SC, Marion Jordan and Van Jordan, both of Darlington, SC, and daughter Tonya O'Neal of Darlington, SC. She also leaves behind grandchildren Tiffany (Joey) Rheuark, Jason Jordan, Zachary Jordan, Tyler Jordan, Mason (Keyerra) Jordan, Judah (Timquasha) Jernigan, and 19 great grandchildren. Alice was an only child, but she also has a special cousin, Lois Buie, who was like a sister to her. Her precious feline grand baby Molly will miss her terribly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow immediately at Darlington Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Central Baptist Church or McLeod Hospice House.
A special thank you to all of the staff at McLeod Hospice who cared for Mama in the home and at the Hospice House. The love and attention that was extended was impeccable. We (family) are eternally grateful for the care she received.
