Alberta Parker Berry, widow of Eugene Berry passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, December 11, 2021. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 17th at Darlington Memory Gardens, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
Born on July 11, 1926, Alberta was the daughter of the late Alexander Parker and Marie Bailey Parker. She worked at the Cotton Mill in Darlington, and then retired from Dixie Cup. She enjoyed baking, gardening, working in her yard and interior design. She loved music, which was instilled into her children.
She will be remembered as a very caring person; even though she wasn't formally a nurse, she took care of many people. Alberta was a lifelong attendant of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her children, Michael Berry of Columbia, Gail Berry of Charlotte, and Dale (Johnny) Campbell, Sr. of Darlington; two grandchildren, Parker and Patrick; and a sister-in-law, Louise Parker.
In addition to her husband, Eugene Berry, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Clyde Parker and Anna Parker; and an infant child.
