Clare White Obituary
Clare Chappell White, age 86, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, February 26th at Newberry Memorial Gardens in Newberry, SC, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born February 23, 1931 in Jacksonville, Florida, Clare is the daughter of the late Adolpho Raymond Chappell and Mary Frances Woodle Chappell. She worked as a Medical Technologist and was a member of First Baptist Church in Darlington. She will always be remembered for her strong faith, her deep compassion, and the love of her family.
Surviving are her children, Clarissa Chase White, Rebecca (John) White Early, Joseph Wylie White, III, Beth White, and Virginia (Keith) White Sokol; her grandchildren, Dr. John (Taylor) Breeden Early, Jr., Raymond Joseph Early, Elizabeth Massebeau McRae, and Jackson Paul McRae; her great-grandchild, Eleanor Elizabeth Early; her sister, Mary Anne Chappell; her sister-in-law, Brenda Chappell, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Chase Chappell; and the father of her children, Joseph Wylie White, Jr.
Memorials may be made to Darlington First Baptist Church, 216 S. Main St. Darlington, SC 29532; or to Samaritans Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
