Louie J. Davis
12/1/1939 - 7/30/2010



LAMAR- Louie J. Davis, age 70, died Friday, July 30, 2010 at the McLeod Hospice House.  Funeral services will be held at 4:00 on Monday, August 2 at Lamar Free Will Baptist Church, internment will follow, with Masonic Rites, in Windhamtown Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home of Lamar.

 Born December 1, 1939 in Georgetown County, he is the son of the late Jasper and Leila Baxley Davis.  Louie served his country in the Unites States Navy then retired from Fluor-Daniels as a mechanic.  He was a member of Lamar Masonic Lodge 287.  Mr. Davis enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.  He was a member of Lamar Free Will Baptist Church.


Surviving are his wife, Emma Windham Davis, a son, Rick (Angela) Davis of Lamar, a daughter Allison “Allie” Davis of San Diego, CA, a grandson, Will Davis, A brother, Jim (Clara) Davis of Garden City and a sister, Reba Cusack of Georgetown.


He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.


The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday night at Belk Funeral Home, LAMAR CHAPEL.

I am a member of St.Davids Lodge and Lamar Lodge. I had the Honor of knowing Brother Louie .I am sitting Junior Warden of St. Davids and had to put on my first E.A. degree recently and Bro. Louie honored me with his presence. He always made me feel welcome anywhere I saw him. He will be missed. God bless Louie and his family.
