Nadene was one of the most intellengent, hard working, dedicated women I've ever known. She worked hard to suceed and suceed she did, breaking the glass ceiling, showing other women that sucess is within their reach. Nadene was also a fun loving person. She enjoyed having good times with her family and friends. I am fortunate to have had Nadene as a cousin and as a friend. My deepest sympathy to Georgeann, Michael, Paul Joe, Jude and Tom.

Tom, Georgann, Jude, and the rest of the Halchak and Mahon family members. My prayers and thoughts are with during this time. I always had respect for Nadene, she and a handful of other women set the stage for some many of "us" other women to come into the South Carolina Army National Guard. I am, and will be forever grateful for that. On a personal note, I will never forget the time you Tom, and Nadene invited this "Damn Yankee" to her first real South Carolina "Pig Pickin." Tom you and Nadene, and the kids made me feel so comfortable and accepted. I kicked off my shoes, rolled up my jeans, and really got into that pig pickin. We ate and danced for hours. It was an experience of a life time for me. I still tell the story of that experience with so many people. You were all so kind and caring to me; I knew then...I could really live my life in South Carolina. I know this is a tough time for all of you but know you have God, family and friends who are thinking of you.
