Richard Chapman Gross
9/10/1947 - 5/6/2010



DARLINGTON- Richard Chapman Gross, age 62, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 in a local hospital after a short illness. A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 8, 2010.


 


Born September 10, 1947 in Bangor, Maine, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Hazel Chapman Gross. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Richard was a truck driver for Pilot Trucking and was also a master carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith.


 


Surviving are his wife, Martha Maness Gross of the home, a step-daughter, Michelle Whitledge, a step-son, Rocky Chapman, both of North Carolina, grandchildren, Sammy and Tony Chapman, two brothers: Michael and Timothy Gross both of Maine and sisters: Sandra Franklin and husband, Paul of Massachusetts and Judy Stevens and husband, Bob of Darlington.
